Event: Euro 2024 Group Stage Group A
Matchday 3 Date: Sunday 23 June 2024
Venue: Waldstadion, Frankfurt
Result: Switzerland 1-1 Germany

It almost opened Germany’s wounds to show other nations that the host also has weaknesses. What methods must be used to inflict defeat on the Iron Eagle team. However, before it ended like that, Niklas Fullkrug became the hero. Heading the goal to tie 1-1. Sending Germany to become the unbeaten group champions and preparing to meet the 2nd place team of Group C in the last 16 of Euro 2024 .

Germany Player Ratings

Manuel Neuer – 7 – Couldn’t have helped the 1-0 goal. When he was brought down from close range. But then showed some impressive tenacity. Most notably denying Granit Xhaka’s long-range effort late on to deny Switzerland a 2-0 lead.

Maximilian Mittelstadt – 5 – Not a great game, the defence wasn’t tested much but it lacked some efficiency in the attack and when David Raum came on he was clearly the more dominant defender.

Jonathan Tah – 5 – Failed to mark Dan Ndoi and conceded a goal. Then unnecessarily booked for a high-leg challenge on Breel Embolo in the 38th minute. Which ruled him out of the last 16.

Antonio Rudiger – 6 – Unlucky when his attempted blocking of Remo Freuler’s cross was ruled out for offside by Dan Ndoi for making it 1-0. But after that he played a fun game against the Swiss forwards.

Joshua Kimmich – 6 – Tried to push forward and had a good chance to equalise late on. But was held back by the Swiss defence.

Toni Kroos – 5 – Still in charge of the first-string initiator as usual. But the standard seems to have dropped a bit, especially when he gets into the game himself. Such as in the 55th minute. When he had a clear shot and missed the post without any real chance.

Robert Andrich – 6 – Had a long-range effort that went just wide of the สมัคร ufabet post in the 16th minute. But was denied a foul by VAR for the previous challenge. He then played his part in defence until he was substituted as usual. Apparently to avoid another yellow card (which he had received in the first game).

Florian Wirtz – 5 – He played with the ball a little in the first half and didn’t get many chances to show off his skills. Although he did make some nice passes. He didn’t really play well in this game.

Ilkay Gundogan – 6 – Had a chance to get into a dangerous position in the first minute. But was cut off before he could take a shot. He then tried to make runs up and down the pitch. Especially from the second line, but the Swiss defence was in good form today.

Jamal Musiala – 7 – Showed off his fine passing skills and a brilliant pass that put Ilkay Gundogan at bay in the first few seconds and disrupted the Swiss defense almost every time they had the ball. It was a pity that his attempt was ruled a foul by VAR. Preventing the goal that gave them a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute.

Kai Havertz – 4 – Got a header from a corner just over two minutes in and it went straight into the hands of Yann Sommer, the first chance of the game, but after that it looked rather quiet. The next chance in the 42nd minute was a poor shot that went over the bar, as were 2-3 more chances in the second half. Overall the quality of the efforts was lacking and the chances were a bit squandered.

reserve

Nico Schlotterbeck (on for Jonathan Tah, 62′) – 6 – Came on to replace Jonathan Tah, who had accumulated his yellow card quota, and it was a warm-up before starting the next game.

David Raum (on for Maximilian Mittelstadt 62′) – 7 – Made a splash on the left wing and fired a long shot over the bar just over a minute into the game, before unleashing a fine cross that was headed home by Niklas Fullkrug in stoppage time to level the score.

Maximilian Bayer (on for Robert Andrich, 65′) – 6 – Once again Andrich was replaced midway through the second half to avoid picking up another yellow card. Bayer didn’t do a great job and didn’t have a huge role to play.

Leroy Sane (on for Florian Wirtz 76′) – 5 – Had a good chance to shoot from a corner kick in the 82nd minute but didn’t really focus on it and shot it high and wide without any direction. In three games as a substitute. He hasn’t really worked in any of them.

Niklas Fullkrug (on for Jamal Musiala 76′) – 8 – Wasted no time in scoring, playing the hero in the 90+2, scoring the equaliser with a header.
